This year, China’s May Day holiday lasted five days. During this break, I repainted the unclear project lines at the exam site to prepare for this year’s province-wide cross-inspection of test venues.

I originally planned to take my kids on a trip to somewhere a little farther away, but my friend suggested going to a small creek near the county town instead, where the kids could play in the water. After checking my wallet, my friend’s idea sounded perfect for my budget. We grabbed a few bottles of Coke, bought some bread, hopped into my 2004 Toyota Camry, and set off happily.
The kids had a blast—they love splashing in the water, trying to catch fish, and exploring the outdoors. And honestly, so do I! 🙂
Here’s a video of the kids having fun:
The next day, my wife wanted to take the kids to her friend’s house in the countryside to catch fish and shrimp.

What did I do? Fishing! Fishing! Fishing! It’s my favorite hobby. I called up three friends, and the four of us headed to a town in the neighboring county to fish along the Red Water River—rumor has it there are big catches there. This was my first fishing trip of the year, and my gear had been gathering dust for over 12 months. Finally, I got to grab my beloved rod and embark on an impromptu fishing adventure!
Here are the photos:
These two are my friends.
