“My rules are the rules” is a line from the Hong Kong movie Special Identity. At the 15-minute mark, there’s a scene between Brother Bo (Kun) and Sunny (played by Andy On). Brother Bo angrily confronts Sunny, saying, “Do you even follow the rules of the underworld anymore?” Sunny then throws his arms wide and snarls back in a domineering, intimidating tone: ”My rules are the rules.” This line became iconic for its raw, unapologetic swagger and has since gone viral as a popular meme phrase.
